Stability analyses of flood embankments
We provide services in assessing the technical condition of flood embankments, including numerical modeling of water flow over them and assessing their stability. To date, we have completed more than a dozen expert opinions on the stability of flood embankments, including those on major Polish rivers such as the Vistula and Dunajec. We also have experience in designing the protection of road and railway embankments crossing floodplains.
- Widening of embankments and excavations: selection of edge structures, geometry correction, berms and load-relieving shelves.
- Subgrade reinforcement: DSM, gravel/concrete columns, geosynthetic mattresses, in-situ stabilization, soil replacement.
- Retaining structures: reinforced concrete walls, reinforced soil walls, T-type walls; trench linings (Berlin, palisades, nailing).
- Drainage: linear and perimeter drainage, temporary drainage for the duration of works, reconstruction of drainage systems.
- Culverts and accompanying structures: reconstructions/extensions, sealing, foundations.
- Landslide protection in the path and in the immediate vicinity of the road: grates, palisades, anchors, deep drainage.
