Designs for strengthening the ground under embankments
We specialize in soil reinforcement projects for road and railway embankments. Over the past decade, we have completed dozens of studies on Poland's largest investments: hundreds of kilometers of highways and expressways, and dozens of kilometers of railway lines – even in challenging mountainous conditions (Carpathian flysch, landslide areas) and on weak soils.
We use commercial software and proprietary tools for advanced deformation forecasting over time, allowing us to select technology that meets realistic schedules and costs.
Technologies we use:
- DSM – cement-soil columns and panels (deep soil mixing).
- Gravel columns (Vibro Replacement), concrete columns (CMC/CFA) and mixed gravel and concrete columns.
- Geosynthetic mattresses and half-mattresses + reinforcement of the embankment base, separation layers.
- In-situ stabilization: surface mixing of the soil with binders (lime, cement, commercial binders).
- Substrate replacement: shallow and deep; with vibroflotation, dynamic compaction; dynamic stone columns.
- Substrate at risk of collapse: high-strength mattresses, low-pressure injections.
Consolidation and phasing
Phased construction of embankments with prediction of shear strength increase over time.
Preloading + PVD – overload embankments and prefabricated vertical drains.
Pre-consolidation of the subgrade with an overload embankment to the required settlement level.
